International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center (ITU-ARCC) are organizing the fourth edition of the regional Cyberdrill ALERT (Applied Learning for Emergency Response Teams) for the Arab region. The cyberdrill exposes participants from the national Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to various scenarios based on case studies and real-life situations, which provides them with an opportunity to test and improve their skills and knowledge in responding to such attacks.
The event will take place from 23rd to 27th May 2016 in Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia, at the kind invitation of the National Agency for Computer Security (NACS), Tunisia.
The exercise aims to enhance readiness and capabilities of regional CERTs to better respond to cyber threats as well as to strengthen regional networking, communication, and cooperation procedures for a successful and continuous collaboration. With this in mind, the drill is structured around various scenarios involving the most common types of cyber-attacks whilst the workshop provides a platform for cooperation, information sharing, and discussions on cybersecurity.
