The First Computer Science University of Tunis El Manar PhD Symposium (CUPS’17), organized by the University of Tunis El Manar and held May 22-25, 2017 at the National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT) , is a forum for PhD students working in Computer Science and related areas to present their work, meet with peers and experienced researchers, obtain feedback and earn credits for their doctoral training program. It aims at helping young researchers build the skills and confidence required to conduct and promote their research, as well as providing them with an opportunity to attend a number of tutorials and workshops on Computer Science.

CUPS’17 aims at allowing UTM’s PhD students learn by constructive criticism with the help pf experienced and established researchers, learn about doing actual research and learning by presenting via the presentation of accepted papers and posters.

The Symposium’s program includes planary sessions as well as several PhD-student-oriented tutorials. The tutorials aim at both giving the students necessary knowledge to advance and widen their research interests, and allowing them to earn the credits required by the UTM’s PhD programs.
In addition to that, students will be able to share their work in the planned forums through paper and poster presentations.

UTM PhD students who wish to present their research (posters for first years, and regular papers for 2nd, 3rd and 4th years) must submit an extended abstract (no longer than 2 pages) by April 21st, 2017 at the latest, via the Symposium’s EasyChair page. Regular papers (submitted after acceptance of the abstracts) must be written in English and must be in the IEEE Conference template, and do not exceed 6 double columned pages. Posters, on the other hand, must be formatted on A1 format poster paper.
